These improvements can make patient’s look and feel rejuvenated and youthful, and also improve a patient’s self-esteem and self-confidence. Dr. Sumit Sitole works with each patient individually to achieve long lasting, natural results with minimal recovery and downtime.

Dr. Sumit Sitole offers a number of surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures and enhancements. Since the eyes are often a focal point of the face, and are often the first to show signs of aging, Dr. Sitole’s procedures focus on improving the overall appearance of the eyes, cheeks and brow. Upper Eyelid Surgery (Upper Blepharoplasty)

Also known as Upper Blepharoplasty, Upper Eyelid Surgery is designed to improve the upper eyelid that may be sagging or drooping. Patients with loose, wrinkled, or even heavy upper eyelids can often look tired and disinterested. By removing excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper eyelid, Dr. Sumit Sitole uses Upper Eyelid Surgery to create a more rejuvenated and energetic appearance. In some cases, Dr. Sitole may combine Upper Eyelid Surgery with Facial Fillers or laser resurfacing to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and crow’s feet. Upper Eyelid Surgery can treat a number of conditions including:

  • Excess fat that may be causing the upper eyelids to appear puffy.
  • Loose skin that is causing unnatural folds in the upper eyelid and in some cases impairs vision.
  • Hidden natural fold of the upper eyelid.

Upper Eyelid Surgery Procedure

Colorado based Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Dr. Sumit Sitole begins an Upper Eyelid Surgery by making a small incision along the natural folds and creases of the upper eyelid. By making the incisions along these natural folds and creases, any visible scarring can be greatly reduced. The incision for an Upper Eyelid Surgery allows for repositioning of fat deposits, tightening of muscles and tissue, and the removal of loose excess skin. Once the desired appearance is created, Dr. Sitole closes the incisions. The overall procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia, and it is performed in as little as 45 minutes.

Upper Eyelid Surgery Results

After Upper Eyelid Surgery, patients are encouraged to use lubricating ointment and a cold compress to reduce any bruising and swelling that may result from the procedure. Once the swelling and bruising has completely subsided, the final result will be a better defined upper eyelid contour and a more refreshed and alert appearance.

Lower Eyelid Surgery (Lower Blepharoplasty)

Also referred to as Lower Blepharoplasty, Lower Eyelid Surgery is designed to correct excess skin and fat under the eye that can give patients a tired and lethargic appearance. Over time, areas of excess fat and sagging can form under the eye and create bags and dark circles. Dr. Sumit Sitole offers Lower Eyelid Surgery to rejuvenate the lower eyelids and create a more youthful and alert appearance. In some cases, Dr. Sitole may combine Lower Eyelid Surgery with Fillers or laser resurfacing to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and crow’s feet around the eyes as well. Lower Eyelid Surgery can treat a number of conditions including:

  • Excess skin and fine wrinkles that may form in the lower eyelid.
  • Bags under the eyes.
  • Droopiness and sagging of the lower eyelid that reveals the whites of the eyes below the iris (colored portion of the eye).

Lower Eyelid Surgery Procedure

Colorado based Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Dr. Sumit Sitole begins a Lower Eyelid Surgery procedure by making a small incision hidden inside of the lower eyelid. By making the incision on the inside of the lower eyelid, any visible scarring can be greatly reduced if not completely avoided. If any excess skin needs to be removed, another small incision may be made just below the lash line of the lower eyelid. Once the lower eyelid is corrected, Dr. Sitole closes any necessary incisions. Lower Eyelid Surgery is typically performed under local anesthesia, and can generally be performed in less than 45 minutes.

Lower Eyelid Surgery Results

After Lower Eyelid Surgery is complete, patients are encouraged to use lubricating ointment and a cold compress to reduce any bruising and swelling that may result. Once the swelling and bruising has completely subsided, the final result will be a better-defined lower eyelid contour and a more refreshed and alert appearance.

Eyebrows – Brow Lift (Forehead Lift)

Also known as a Forehead Lift, A Brow Lift is designed to create a more alert and youthful appearance by correcting the presence of expression lines and signs of aging that may appear in the forehead and brow region. A furrowed forehead or brow can cause patients to appear angry, while a sagging brow can make patients appear sad or tired. Dr. Sumit Sitole uses Brow Lift Surgery to restore a more youthful and relaxed appearance. A Brow Lift can treat a number of conditions including:

  • Droopy or sagging eyebrows that make patients appear tired and disinterested.
  • Creases across the forehead or high on the bridge of the nose.
  • Frown lines.

Brow Lift Surgery Procedure

Depending on the amount of correction needed, Colorado based Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Dr. Sumit Sitole offers both traditional and endoscopic incision techniques. Regardless of the incision method, Dr. Sitole uses inconspicuous incisions along the natural folds and seams of the face to minimize any potential visible scarring.

Once the incision technique is chosen, Brow Lift Surgery begins by repositioning underlying tissue and muscle to create a smooth contour. In some cases, excess muscle and tissue may be altered or removed to improve visible lines and creases. In many cases, the eyebrows are lifted to a more youthful position and held in place with sutures. Once the desired shape and contour is achieved, any necessary incision(s) will be closed.

Brow Lift Surgery Results

Recovery from a Brow Lift will depend upon the incision technique (endoscopic or traditional) that is chosen prior to the actual procedure. Generally, patients are able to resume light daily activities after 7-10 days, but more strenuous activities should not be resumed for 2-3 weeks following Brow Lift Surgery. These strenuous activities include any activity that can increase blood pressure. Patients are also encouraged to avoid direct sunlight for 2-3 months to ensure the very best results. Following post-operative instructions carefully will result in a smooth and more youthful brow appearance.

Cheek Lift

For some patients, the area just below the lower eyelid can droop and appear deflated. As the central area of the face, a traditional facelift or Brow Lift may not impact this area. A Cheek Lift is specifically designed to improve the appearance of this area and create a more youthful and full appearance. As the skin of the face begins to lose elasticity over time, the skin can begin to droop and appear loose. In some cases, patients actually lose facial volume around the cheeks and silicone cheek implants may be inserted to restore this volume. Dr. Sumit Sitole may also combine this procedure with Fillers to create a more full and youthful appearance. A Cheek Lift corrects a number of conditions including:

  • Loose or sagging skin around the mid-face.
  • Undefined cheek bones.
  • Droopy cheek tissue.
  • Deep Lines extending from the corner of the mouth to the corner of the nose (nasolabial folds).

Cheek Lift Procedure

The goal of a Cheek Lift procedure is to raise the cheek pad to a more youthful position over the cheekbone. This can give patients a more defined and youthful cheekbone appearance. Incisions are generally placed in the same location as Lower Eyelid Surgery, just below the lower lash line, to reduce any visible scarring that may result. In some cases, additional incisions may be necessary behind the hairline and inside the mouth to achieve the very best results. Once the incisions are made, the cheek pad is gently lifted into a more youthful position and secured with sutures. If the fat pad does not have enough volume to provide the desired results, Dr. Sitole may recommend Facial Fillers or Cheek Implants to complement the final results.

Cheek Lift Results

A Cheek Lift may take two or more hours to complete and can be performed under either local or general anesthesia. Patients may experience some swelling and bruising following the procedure, but both will fade over time revealing the amazing results. Patients can generally return to daily activity after 1-2 weeks, but may need to avoid more strenuous activities for up to 1 month. The final results will display a much more youthful, full, and balanced facial appearance.

Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation

Opus Plasma

An innovative, first-of-its-kind radiofrequency skin resurfacing technology improves the skin’s tone and texture with treatments that take 15 to 25 minutes and require minimal downtime.

Opus Plasma represents the next generation of fractional skin resurfacing treatments for women and men of most skin types who want to minimize wrinkles and reverse damage caused by the sun and the natural aging process. The procedure’s versatility enables us to adjust treatment intensity from light to aggressive, depending on the patient’s skin condition and goals.

The innovative platform combines radiofrequency (RF) energy with plasma created when the RF energy emitted from the tips of metal pins react to atmospheric pressure.

Like other laser skin resurfacing treatments, Opus Plasma removes only a fraction of the skin in the targeted area. Fractional skin resurfacing creates thousands of tiny micro-injuries to the skin while leaving the surrounding tissue undamaged. The body’s natural healing response repairs these controlled wounds by producing new collagen and elastin, the building blocks of smooth, youthful-looking skin.

Unlike traditional laser-based skin resurfacing technologies, however, Opus Plasma precisely controls the time that radiofrequency energy makes contact with the skin. This minimizes unwanted inflammation that typically leads to longer recovery times.

Who Can Benefit From Opus Plasma Treatments?

Because we can adjust the treatment’s intensity, virtually anyone with concerns about their skin’s appearance is a good candidate for an Opus Plasma procedure. It produces results similar to an aggressive CO2 laser or a gentle laser peel, depending on the setting used. The difference with Opus Plasma is that the treatment and recovery time is minimal compared to other laser treatments.

The benefits of an Opus Plasma treatment include:

  • Reduced appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and loose and saggy skin
  • Overall skin rejuvenation
  • Minimized acne scars, surgical scars, and stretch marks
  • Popular treatment areas include the face, neck, abdomen, and arms.

What Happens During an Opus Plasma Treatment?

We begin by applying a topical anesthetic to the target area to minimize discomfort during the session. Once the skin is numb, the specialist glides the Opus Plasma handpiece across the skin. We can treat the entire face in 15 minutes. Once the procedure is finished, we apply a cooling and protective skincare. Patients usually notice some slight redness and swelling after the treatment, but it resolves on its own within 24 to 48 hours in most cases. More aggressive treatment settings can extend the downtime.

Even though most patients see results after a single treatment, we recommend 3 treatment sessions for optimal results.

CO2 Laser Resurfacing

The UltraPulse® laser boasts the Gold Standard UltraPulse® technology, enabling the deepest and safest impact, as well as a full range of advanced capabilities for fractional and full resurfacing, at an unparalleled range of depths. UltraPulse® delivers high peak power in a short pulse duration for deep penetration with ideal ablation and coagulation ratio.

Dr. Sitole will often combine his full face laser resurfacing with cosmetic or reconstructive facial surgery to deliver the best possible outcome for his patients.

Downtime can very per patient and per treatment, but most patients can look forward to feeling and looking more like themselves after the first week.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial

Men and women who are concerned about the look of sun damage or pigmentation on their skin can be great candidates for intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments at Oculoplastics & Aesthetics. A photofacial with IPL is a skin rejuvenation treatment for pigmentation problems on the face and neck.

The IPL device produces high intensity light energy emitted in pulse of broad wavelengths. Intense Pulsed Light wavelengths help the body clear the sun damaged superficial layer and boost the skin’s regenerative processes, revealing the newer, healthier skin underneath.

IPL uses short pulses of multi -wavelength high intensity light to penetrate just below the skin’s surface, impacting sun and age spots or broken capillaries. Over time, you should notice a healthier appearance, an enhanced tone, and fewer dark spots. Although IPL is not an invasive process, it can be very effective and can create amazing results for your skin.

During the Treatment

We apply a cooling ultrasonic gel for the IPL to glide through. You will feel the laser energy snapping on the skin but expect minimal discomfort. Topical anesthetic is not indicated and may limit the results from the IPL treatment.

Hyperpigmentation & Sun Damage Treatment

In some cases, a person’s body can naturally create more pigmentation than is required. Several health and environmental factors may also increase a patient’s chance of skin pigmentation, such as specific oral or topical medications, injury or trauma to the skin, and exposure to UV rays.

Many people have hyperpigmentation, which is a widespread medical concern involving dark-colored patches that occur on the surface of the skin. These brown or red splotches can show up in any location on the body and face and can vary in size and shape. Areas of skin discoloration might also be due to acne marks and freckles from concerns, such as melasma, psoriasis, and eczema. We treat this common skin concern on a regular basis at Oculoplastics & Aesthetics with the Alma Harmony XL PRO laser. Providing skin rejuvenation, these laser-based hyperpigmentation treatments can diminish the appearance of this condition and help renew your complexion.

Melasma Treatment

Melasma can occur during any stage in a person’s life. It is commonly believed to be the result of hormones, including those that accompany pregnancy and birth control pills. Less prevalent factors that are generally associated with melasma include sun exposure, stress, and familial history.

Melasma appears more often in females with darker skin types and can be triggered by UV exposure or hormonal changes, such as those that occur during menopause and pregnancy. We perform melasma treatment at Oculoplastics & Aesthetics with Alma Harmony XL PRO laser technology. This innovative procedure utilizes gentle laser energy to help minimize the appearance of gray, brown, or tan patches associated with melasma.

When utilizing the Harmony XL PRO laser system, we will focus a healing beam of light into melasmic areas on the surface of your skin. The laser will gently help to diminish melanin (the substance that causes discoloration), allowing it to be absorbed naturally by your body. Even though areas of hyperpigmentation might take on a darker appearance initially, they should fade over the course of seven days.

Laser Skin Tightening

Over the course of our youth, we get to benefit from a rich supply of elastin and collagen, which helps keep our complexion soft and youthful. Later on, this vital storage of vitamins will most likely diminish, causing the skin to become less firm. This causes fine lines and a drooping appearance. If you want to elevate the tautness of your skin without surgery, then you may consider laser skin tightening at Oculoplastics & Aesthetics. By utilizing our advanced laser system by Alma Harmony XL PRO, this treatment works to incite the development of elastin and collagen so you can achieve a more taut, smoother complexion.

Laser skin tightening is often best coupled with our Opus Plasma for a customizable skin resurfacing.

Microneedling & PRP

Microneeding and PRP, also known as a vampire facial, is a type of facial that involves using a clients own PRP, or platelet rich plasma. Platelet rich plasma is taken from their own blood. After microneedling, the PRP is massaged into the skin. PRP contains high levels of growth factors, which, when applied to the skin, will stimulate cell turnover. The benefits of a vampire facial are reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, or other skin abnormalities.

Microneedling & PRP Procedure

Our Microneedling & PRP facials can be combined with other aesthetic treatments or used on their own. Patients enjoy the comfort of our office and are treated by our licensed Esthetician. The procedure will start with extracting a client’s PRP, which requires a blood draw. Once this takes place, a client will undergo micro needling prior to having the PRP applied to the skin. Because of the concentrated growth factor in the PRP, clients will see a reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, or other skin abnormalities.

Botox

Botox is a non-surgical treatment that is designed to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles and is the most common non-surgical cosmetic procedure performed in the United States. Unlike traditional facial fillers, Botox isn’t designed to add volume. Patients seeking Botox injections often suffer from traditional signs of aging, including crow’s feet, fine lines that develop over time, and frown lines. Botox actually works by weakening underlying facial muscles. By directly targeting wrinkle causing muscles, unwanted lines and wrinkles can be greatly diminished over a period of time.

Botox is a purified substance that weakens the muscle so that it no longer contracts by blocking nerve signals to the wrinkle-causing muscles. By keeping these wrinkle-causing muscles from contracting, fine lines and wrinkles are much less visible. It is important to note that there are 43 facial muscles that can contribute to wrinkles and fine lines throughout the face. For this reason, it is essential that a trained professional perform Botox injections. Dr. Sumit Sitole has a thorough understanding of the wrinkle-causing muscles around the eyes and mid-face that allows him to directly target wrinkle-causing muscles.

Botox Results

As a minimally invasive procedure, Botox injections can be performed without patients having to endure down-time or recovery following injections. As the muscles in the face begin to relax, the full results of Botox Injections will begin to become more apparent, and facial lines and wrinkles will reduce. The effects of Botox are temporary, and after 3 to 5 months the treated muscles will resume their function, and wrinkles and fine lines will return. To ensure long-lasting results, repeated treatments are necessary.

Facial Fillers

Also known as a “liquid facelift,” facial fillers can temporarily provide the benefits of a surgical procedure without the down-time or recovery. Dr. Sumit Sitole offers Radiesse and Juvederm as temporary facial rejuvenation alternatives that can soften facial creases and add volume. Radiesse and Juvederm offer different benefits and can be used to treat different areas of the face.

Juvederm vs. Radiesse

Juvederm is hyaluronic acid filler that is used primarily to hydrate and augment facial tissue. Juvederm is frequently used to enhance the nasal folds, lips, brows or hollowing under the eyes. Radiesse offers a firmness and support that can be beneficial for issues that require more structural support. Radiesse is often used for enhancing the cheeks.

Facial Fillers Procedure

Similar to Botox Injections, a thorough understanding of the underlying structures of the affected areas will ensure the very best results. After applying a numbing cream to the treatment area to enhance patient comfort, injections are strategically made to the designated areas to add volume, reduce wrinkles, and minimize deep folds.

Facial Fillers Results

Patients can typically see results immediately following the injections, but results will improve as Facial Fillers begin to settle. The results from both Radiesse and Juvederm are temporary and repeat injections will be necessary to maintain a rejuvenated and more youthful appearance.

Lip Enhancements

A lip enhancement is a non-surgical technique performed to alter the appearance of lips, creating a fuller, more luscious look, while diminishing fine lines and wrinkles around the periorbital region. Lip fillers used, similar to Volbella, are hyaluronic acid based, which allows for a temporary natural looking result. This technique is often
accompanied by our professional lip treatment, which targets dryness and fine lines. This moisture rich treatment will leave lips feeling plump, hydrated, and happy.

Lip Enhancement Results

Patients can typically see results immediately following the injections, but results will improve as the filler begins to settle. The results from the filler are temporary and repeat injections will be necessary to maintain a rejuvenated and more youthful appearance.

Kybella

Kybella is a non-surgical treatment that improves the appearance of moderate to severe submental fullness, also known as the double chin. Kybella is composed of deoxycholic acid and is specifically designed to target fat cells, ultimately improving your profile. Men and women alike can experience submental fullness from weight gain, genetics, or aging. To achieve desired results, many patients undergo a series of 2-6 treatments over the course of several months.

Kybella Procedure

Similar to other aesthetic treatments, a thorough understanding of the underlying structures of the affected areas will ensure the very best results. Dr. Sitole will start by marking and measuring the exact area he will inject Kybella. From here, a topical numbing cream and/or ice packs will be placed on the skin to enhance comfort. Then, Dr. Sitole will create a grid essentially creating a map of ensuring precise injection. Once the injections have taken place, we clean the grid previously created off the skin. Over the course of 6-8 weeks, Kybella will be slowly breaking down the
fat cells in the target area. The next treatment will take place in the same area after only about 7 weeks.

Kybella Results

Kybella is a non-invasive procedure with long-lasting, quick results. Because each patient is unique, results may very, but most will begin to see a notable difference in the first 4-6 weeks. After all treatments are complete, patients will notice a thinner, more contoured facial profile.
